I’ve noticed that there are a lot of designers out there making bird related jewellery. I have also noticed lots of them make jewellery based on the birds of our fair country (Britain). Whilst I applaud them on their patriotism and support of our nations wildlife, I have to say that they are not even nearly as exciting as a toucan. A chaffinch stands no chance against the toucan in the style stakes. Just my humble opinion.

If like me you love tropical birds, you can now purchase this toucan necklace on pre-order for the bargain price of £18 (normal price £24). Pre-order means they you will be the first to get you grubby hands on a toucan necklace straight from the laser cutters before anyone else. It also means you should expect to wait up to a month for your necklace.

The toucan measures 10cm across and 8am high, is laser cut from perspex and is hung on a gold or gunmetal plated chain.

 I am so excited to announce that finally after over 4 months of designing and pratting about, the Ship in a Bottle Necklace is finally finished! I had such a ball ache making this as the glue kept on showing through the transparent Perspex. I have now designed the piece so that it all fits together like a lovely jigsaw and is really really strong as well. This has the added bonus of making the piece only one layer of Perspex meaning it is lighter and only 3mm thick. My favourite thing about this necklace is the little wooden pirate boat, the detailing in the burnt on etching looks awesome if I do say so myself.

I have been practicing wearing leggings without a skirt just for this. Anyway, I found out that the company are called Trash and they are awesome. They only went and made this amazing king kong dress which I love to bits. It is £68 though so a little out of my price range. Boo. http://bemytrash.com
